As I sit here, in the beginning of summer, I am dreaming of what I want to do in my high school math classroom for the 2012/2013 school year.
This year, I have no clue what I am teaching. I know it's high school math, and am relatively sure that it's not Algebra 1.
I have become addicted to Pinterest, and am finding that everything out there for "Education" is for elementary aged classrooms. (ok, I have found a few high schoo related things). I would like to share things I have created, and perhaps things I have found in my quest to create a hands on math classroom for high school math.
I agree!!! I have pinned some stuff, but us high school teachers need to bond together to help build our community!
ReplyDeleteThose elementary teachers are amazeballs though - I think they are superheroes in disguise :)
Welcome to the blog-o-sphere! I look forward to reading more :)
I can't believe you found this! I am so excited to try this (I love the internet, but I am not a writer, I'm a math teacher!) But I just posted a few of my own finds and how I want to incorporate them into my own classroom. I would like to add original material as time permits. Happy Pinning!!
DeleteIt seems like all of our first blog posts say basically this same thing! These darn elementary school teachers are just so creative and make the cutest things. I'm so glad I found this little online community!!!
ReplyDeleteElementary teachers are trained to make learning interesting and the sudden shift in high school sometimes scares students. As a result, they go to tutorial center first to prepare for high school.
